The referral
You can refer yourself to Insight Counselling Psychology Practice
by making contact via telephone or email and requesting an initial
session. Alternatively, your GP or other health professional may
refer you. If you intend to use private medical insurance to pay
for your psychological therapy, please check with your insurer as
to whether they require a referral from a GP.
The first session
After you or your referrer has made contact with Insight Counselling
Psychology Practice, you will be contacted to arrange an initial
session at a mutually convenient time. The session will be 50 minutes
long. This initial session will be an opportunity to talk through
your particular difficulties and consider whether psychological therapy
would be helpful. Your needs, expectations and any relevant issues
will be explored with you. Deborah
Rafalin will put forward her recommendation
as to which particular type of psychological therapy would be helpful
and for how many sessions you might meet. You may agree a particular
course of therapy at the end of the initial session, or alternatively
you may wish to go away and think more about this experience before
deciding whether or not to proceed. There is no charge for
this initial session.
Psychological Therapy
Once you have decided to begin psychological therapy, it is aimed
that your therapy will begin as soon as possible. Sessions are usually
weekly and on the same day and time. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
Fee
There is no charge for the initial psychological therapy session.
The fee for ongoing psychological therapy sessions is agreed at
the end of the initial session. The fee is £100 per session
for clients who are funded by private health insurance. This is reduced
to £80.00 per session for clients who are self-funded. Deborah
is also able to offer fee reductions for people on low incomes, students
and psychological therapists in training and this is negotiated on
an individual basis. Payment, by cash or cheque, is due at the end
of each session.
